Baked Apple Crisp
How can you know its truly fall without the smell of baking apples? In a sea of sugar, dairy filled holiday desserts this is sure to please the masses with just a few wholesome ingredients! We suggest hitting up a local orchard or farmers market while apples are still in season.
This recipe is enough to serve 2, it can easily be doubled or tripled to serve more people.
1 organic apple, any seasonal type
1/2 stick organic salted butter
pinch of sea salt
1/2 teaspoon organic cinnamon
choose a sweetener like organic maple syrup, honey or a small bit of brown sugar
approximately 1 cup organic oats
Preheat oven to 350. Melt butter in a saucepan, add salt, cinnamon and sweetener. While that is warming, cut apple in half horizontally. Scoop out seeds and core of apple, place inside up in a baking dish. Add oats to butter mixture, stir and coat oats. Divide and scoop oat mixture into each half apple. Bake for 10-20 minutes till apple has slightly softened.
We highly suggest enjoying this yummy dessert with some vanilla goat ice cream.
