recipe WEDNESDAY: Good Morning Granola

Good Morning Granola

This is a truly great way to start any summer breakfast! Not only are the possibilities endless for the types of granola you can make but you have unlimited options when eating it! Try berries, hemp milk, goat milk yogurt or sliced bananas! Use your imagination and tailor your granola to your own tastes.

3 1/2c old-fashioned rolled oats
1c raw, organic nuts or seeds (try a variety or one type a time, look to see what is most beneficial for your blood type)
3/4c dried fruit, no sugar added (look to see what is most beneficial for your blood type)
1 tbsp. vanilla extract
1/8c raw, local honey
1/2c applesauce, no sugar added
Cinnamon, to taste
Sea salt, to taste

Preheat oven to 300. In a large bowl, combine all wet ingredients. Combine all dry ingredients and toss into wet mixture. Combine well till all ingredients are coated. If mixture seems to dry, try a touch more applesauce.

Spread entire mixture over lined baking sheets and toast the granola for about every 10 minutes and toss gently. Toast mixture until ingredients are browned evenly.

From the oven, let granola cool and then store in glass, air tight container.
